"I’m a father of three, with one recently joining the band as a dancer. Growing up in a sports-loving family, I coached cricket at a local primary school. Though new to music and dance, I was drawn to the band's beautiful music and its impact on the community. In Macassar, outdoor activities are limited, and many children face challenges. The band offers a positive outlet, keeping kids safe and engaged. I’m proud to support them, attending daily rehearsals and celebrating their achievements.

Joining the band for the National Championships in Johannesburg was a dream come true, especially seeing Wanderers Stadium in person. The experience was exhilarating, and I’m grateful to be part of this journey. "

Alexandra Field Band, Dance Tutor

"I joined the Field Band Foundation in 2011 at age 8 and became a dance Tutor in Training (TIT) in 2015, where I developed leadership and teaching skills. Though initially challenged by music theory, my former tutor Mashudu Mogotsi helped me understand it.

In August 2022, I became the dance tutor for Alexandra. In 2023, I completed the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program and earned Merits in both Grade 1 ABRSM music theory and Grade 4 Modern Theatre dance exams. The Field Band Foundation has equipped me with valuable skills and showed me that with dedication, you can achieve anything and inspire others."
