Partnerships

FBF funding partners are a critical element for the continued success of our work. We acknowledge and thank them all sincerely. Please see all their logos below and on the ‘About Us’ page.

We also belong to a variety of networks around the world, in different sectors, which results in gains other than financial. We are proud to acknowledge these partnerships, where we are giving or getting in-kind support, receiving pro bono assistance from experts, exchanging knowledge and being able to be a conduit to support others, in all kinds of ways.

A drumroll and salute to these particular partnerships:

Norwegian Band Federation or Norges Musikkorps Forbund (NMF)

We are proud to be 20-year old partners with NMF, through the support of Norec. This has enabled us first to building music teaching skills with a 12-year project called Bands Crossing Borders, and now to extend our mutual knowledge of how music can be health promoting with the PULSE! Project. More on PULSE on the Training page.

Even though the global covid pandemic has restricted travel, the two organizations are still working together and the effect of this exposure is felt far and wide in both countries.

CHABAHIVA (Church and Business Against HIV and Aids) Trust
This Trust is a grant-making body as well as a collaborative network of organizations (Chabahiva Collective Network) that implement or support compassionate and holistic HIV prevention and care programmes. Their primary aim is to support, strengthen and empower services and organisational sustainability, concerning HIV prevention, treatment and care knowledge and skills.
Reality Wellness
To support FBF staff and their family, this corporate wellness group provides free counselling and support on a range of current topics including employee psycho-social counselling, disease management, and wellness testing and screening. This is critical as FBF staff are on the frontline when it comes to working with social distress, and they need caretaking as well as our band members.

This leading and highly respected full service corporate and commercial law firm provides FBF experienced support and advice on legal and human resource matters.
Growthpoint

Price Waterhouse Coopers
FBF financial audit processes have enjoyed a CSI-directed discount from this major firm over the last few years.
UNISA
UNISA and FBF are in the process of signing an MOU which will pave the way for links into the Music Department as well as support from the Postgraduate Programme of Social and Behaviour Studies (HIV/AIDS), Tirisano Projects and the HIV and Social Diversity Curriculum Integration Project.

The Wits School of Arts
Fourth year students in arts and culture management have work experience with FBF which exposes them to marketing, management, and monitoring activities.
iMotiv8
Simone Burts, Events Coordinator at iMotiv8, has assisted the FBF in finding performance opportunities. During events such as our Golf Day in November 2020, Simone and iMotiv8 have supported the FBF through expanding our network to individuals interested in making in-kind donations.
Silveray Stationery Company
In 2020 and 2021, Silveray Stationery Company provided stationery to children in Petrusville/Philipstown Field Band as well as other nearby bands.
Investec Coaches Who Care Leadership Support Programme
Investec invests further in their NGO partners by providing a series of leadership coaching seminars for managers, which builds solidarity as well as skills in the sector. FBF has made further valuable associations as a result.
The Persistent
Salome Fenyane is an inspiring motivational speaker and author of a programme designed to support young people in setting and achieving their goals. She provided extensive coaching to young FBF leaders during the difficult times of C-19 in 2020 and was identified through the Investec Coaches Who Care programme.
Childline

Barloworld
Regularly, Barloworld have made vehicles available to the Cape Whalers band in Macassar and in 2020, they donated a people-mover which has enabled our tutor team to be transported safely to their work.
HCI Foundation
Subsidised transport in the Western Cape from the HCI Foundation further enables the Cape Whalers to attend different events and activities such as the Cape Carnival.
